Ayurveda is an upaveda of the Rigveda, upaveda can be roughly translated as applied science There are certain situations in which an ayurvedic rule may seemingly be different from a general shastric rule. Here it is important to note that the ayurvedic texts clearly mention that Ayurveda should be followed in conformance with the larger Vedic injunctions This is illustrated in this reel on how to interpret the rule for oil bath / abhyanga for men doing Tila tarpana for their ancestors, when Saturday falls on an Amavasya day. An abhyanga snana is recommended by us @kryagoodies to be done by men on Wednesdays and Saturdays, except i this case of Amavasya. Hope you find the principle illustrated useful.
