How to remove melted aluminum foil from your oven

After having the foil catching excess pizza bits it was evident the foil had melted and become embedded in the self cleaning oven. Putting the oven in self clean mode DID NOT burn the foil off. Using oven cleaner MELTED the foil chemically over 24 hours. But left a dark spot.
