Welcome back to my travel vlog! On my second day in Xorazm, Uzbekistan, I couldn't resist exploring the bustling Urgench Bazaar, known locally as Chalysh Bozor. Just across the street from the hotel I was staying at Hotel Crystal Palace, this market was an absolute gem. What struck me immediately was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Unlike some places I've visited before, the locals here were not camera-shy. In fact, they eagerly said hello and were delighted to be part of the filming. It was a stark contrast to my experiences in other regions, making the entire visit incredibly heartwarming. As I strolled through the bazaar, the friendly ambiance continued. I had the pleasure of tasting some of the most delightful figs and witnessed the traditional preparation of Samsa, a local culinary delight. There was also an intriguing encounter with a vendor selling Dried Smoked Fish, a local specialty whose eating methods remain a mystery to me. Passing by a vendor offering a special kind of bread known as "bukhanka," made in the same manner as during the USSR era, was a fascinating experience. Interestingly, the bread closely resembled a Russian van, creating a quirky sight in the market. After soaking in the lively energy of the bazaar, I decided to explore further and found myself behind the hotel, standing in awe before a monument dedicated to Zoroastrianism—an ancient Persian religion dating back an incredible 4000 years. It was a moment of reflection and awe, contemplating the rich history and cultural depth of this region. As the day drew to a close, I returned to the hotel, eagerly preparing for my next adventure in Khiva the following day. Join me in my journey through this mesmerizing part of Uzbekistan, and let's keep exploring the hidden treasures that this country has to offer.
