This video covers the entire process of replacing the rear struts on a 2004-2008 Acura TL. This procedure is also very similar to the 2003-2008 Honda Accord. This is Episode 2 in the Acura TL Series. Episode 1: /watch/8bJu4onw_Ipwu Episode 3: /watch/4R4-pTOwfT3w- If you don’t have a decent spring compressor, I recommend using complete strut assemblies, or, after you remove the struts from your vehicle, take them to a shop to have them swap the struts over for you. Coil springs can be very dangerous if not handled properly. @killahsi20035 years ago If you were to remove the sway bar bushings in the rear you can move the whole away bar out of the way and clear the strut. Saves you time and personally i end up fighting the end links for hours and end tearing them apart. 11

@reneneron29715 years ago Eric, wire brushing the end links with a steel wire brush before spraying will make it a much easier job. It takes just a few seconds. Second, i fill id="hidden18" the allen socket of the end link with a dab of grease whencorrosion and stripping it the next time. Those allen sockets collect water and dirt like it' s nobody' s business, which can' t happen if it is already filled with grease. ...Expand

  • @
@trew38072 years ago In the acura service manual, they have the rubber bushings opposite of what you show in the video. The rubbers are pyramid shaped, and when installed they it seems intuitive to do it the hour glass way like you did, the mount plate looks like they should go in the hour glass way, but the manual calls for the opposite. Doing it the hour glass way causes the rubber to flair out as you tighten the top nut, deforming it, causing accelerated wear. ...Expand
